The MOVE-ON final meeting, that took place in Brussels on June 22nd and 23rd was held in a hybrid format and proved to be a significant milestone for the project. These were the key objectives and accomplishments:
To facilitate a productive exchange, the meeting was structured around four distinct working sessions. Activity leaders from various domains shared their work and insights, fostering a multidimensional approach to the discussions. The sessions included:
– MAES methods development and Implementation support: activity leaders presented the methodologies proposed for the MAES implementation in each Anchor Project region, supporting its effective application in a real context, involving and empowering local actors;
– MAES implementation in regional Anchor Projects: this session showcased successful examples of MAES implementation within regional Anchor Projects, highlighting practical applications, barriers encountered, and lessons learned;
– Policy Support Overseas: Discussions revolved around the policies and regulations needed to promote the adoption of MAES and its integration into regional context.
– MAES Networking – Advancing an ORs and OCTs (OOEK) Knowledge Network: The importance of collaboration and networking was emphasized, with a focus on expanding an overseas knowledge network to foster learning and cooperation beyond borders.
The MOVE-ON consortium and participants left the meeting feeling inspired and motivated, recognizing the significant strides made in the field of ecosystem services mapping and assessment. The outcomes and discussions will undoubtedly contribute to a more sustainable future for the European Union.
